Comcast VP supports Need in Deed's service-learning agenda
NID recently elected Scott Bailey to the Board of Need in Deed. Scott is senior vice president and general manager of Comcast.net. In this capacity he is responsible for strategy and overall management and growth of the site, the portal for Comcast’s 14.1 million high-speed internet subscribers. Scott lives in Chestnut Hill.
“When Barbara and Kim approached me about becoming involved with Need in Deed, I knew this was the program I had to find time for,” says Scott. “Using academics to address social problems in students’ schools and communities is a powerful way to translate learning through life experiences. It is clear from the feedback from both teachers and students that this type of knowledge transfer is having a dramatic impact.”
